Knowing more about PMMA
The History
Being involved in a highly competitive industry and a fast growing filed, the owners of the Iranian machine manufacturing companies and factories had no time or interest to think about the inevitability of formation of some kind of gatherings, no matter what it could have been: A cooperative, a syndicate, or an association. In fact during 80’s and 90’s, mo st machine manufacturers got pleasure of a potential domestic market in a very competitive atmosphere, and could never thought of the essentiality of being together and under one umbrella for the problems and/or benefits that they were sharing individually with each other. However, initiation of the importation of the Chinese machineries forced them to awake of two decades of a deep and happy sleeping.
In 1996, the PIM’s Director (Mr. A.A. Saatnia) who felt this obligation as well, used his long term friendshipwith the community within this industry and invited more than 38 machine manufacturers to his office and after an hour speech and then so many discussions, some of the participants decided to go after foundation of an association for the machine manufacturers. This took a long time due to restrict rules and regulations for establishment of any kind of gatherings in Iran.
Ten years later, in Oct. 2006 about 20 machine manufacturers gathered in a hotel at the east partof Tehran and practically started to compose the required basis for such an association. At the same day, the participants voted for the five following managers and authorized them for any kind of follow ups that could conclude a fully registered association. The elected managers were:
1-Mr. M. Reza. Shakery, the manager of Parsian Injection Moulding Machine Manufacturing Co. (who later was selected as the head of the board of directors)
2-Mr. Ara. Herachian, the manager of Top Technique Co.
3-Mr. Yeros. Ebrahimi, the manager of Kajaran Extrusion Manufacturing Co.
4-Mr. Henrick Aslanian, the manager of Aslanian Injection Moulding Machine Co.
5-Mr. Sirus Bakhtiari, the manager of Poolad Injection Moulding Machine Co. (who shifted his duties to Mr. Behzad Qasemi as his representative in the board)
With lack of an owned office, the very first 6 months meetings used to take place at Top Technique’s office, however due to the noisy atmosphere of this office, the manager of Poolad IMM offered a new office to the Association, that was a little bit bigger and better. However, since both offices were devoted to the Association’s activities free of charge, the board of directors felt such a situation as an inconvenience one, and decided to move for more independency, and finally by the helps of Mr. Mehran Moddaberi the manager of the Part PET Co., the Association office moved to its present location and became centralized.
PMMA’s Goals & Aims
1- Associated communication with the registered members of the Association which are the manufacturers of polymeric processing machineries and equipments, in order to try to share their views in a common language aiming accumulation of their potentials;
2- Consistent communication with Governmental effective bodies like Ministry of Industries & Mines, Ministry of Commerce, Custom Offices, Petrochemical Industries, aiming information release to them and utilizing them for development of the production capacities of the members via prevention of the limitation boundaries and changing of some stopping and anti-industry rules;
3- Trying to boost the technological knowledge of the members as well as trying the possible ways for technology transfer with the aim of optimization of the trend of machine manufacturing systems;
4- Establishment of a technical school for preparation of the necessary technical work force for machinery industries;
5- Studying the situation of the target countries for exportation of the Iranian manufactured machineries;
6- Information release for members in order to maintain and develop their present markets;
7- Solving individual or grouping difficulties and problems that the members are or will be faced with.

PMMA Activities
2007
1- More than 35 weekly and bi-weekly meetings of the management board for structural discussions related to the foundation and establishment of the Association;
2- Invitation of a very experienced team manager (Dr. S.M. Sodody) as the General Manger of the association. This decision resulted in more organized office works and fester development of the Association, due to the German based studies and experiences of Dr. Sodody;
3- Meetings with official bodies of the Ministry of Industries & Mines and the Ministry of Interior Affairs for adjustments of the regulations & rules with the current situation of the Association;
4- Participation at Esfahan Plast and Kish Plast aiming introduction of the PMMA association to the industrial community and individuals. These two activities reported later as very successful ones.
5- Establishment of the Statute of the Association
2008
1- Co-organization of an industrial tour to visit Chinaplas 2008 under the umbrella of PMMA. This tour was organized with close cooperation of PIM and in returning back, more than 98% of participants who were asked for their level of satisfactory, announced it as very satisfactory and convenient.
2- Moving to the new location, as the central office of PMMA;
3- Accepting responsibility of space allocations for IRANPLAST 2008 on behalf of the Sepantas Kish Co. from one side and the machine manufacturers from the other side. PMMA did a splendid job at this position and successfully allocated more than 5500 sqm of the exhibition spaces to about 120 companies;
2009
1- Organization of a tour for PLAST 2009 exhibition
2- Participation at PLAST 2009 exhibition in Hall 16
3- Organization of the 2nd industrial tour for Chinaplas 2009
